Dillon Pottish Named UAA Tennis Player Of The Week
Emory University junior Dillon Pottish (East Quogue, NY) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Tennis Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to three wins. It marks the fifth time during the 2011-12 campaign and 12th time in his career that he has captured the honor.
Pottish, who stands as the No. 1-ranked singles player in the D-III ranks, helped Emory to an 8-1 triumph over No. 20 Cal Lutheran with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 verdict over Nick Ballou at No. 1 singles and teamed up with Chris Goodwin for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles. Pottish posted a straight-set singles win against his Skidmore College opponent and then keyed a 6-2 win over Kenyon by defeating Paul Burgin in singles, 6-3, 6-4, while he and Goodwin notched an 8-2 triumph over Austin Griffin and Josh Stiles at No. 1 doubles. Pottish owns a 10-0 singles record this spring (19-1 overall).
