Emory's Eric Halpern Heads To USTA/ITA Small College Championships

DIII Men's Singles Draw


Junior Eric Halpern (Rye Brook, NY) will represent Emory University this week at the USTA/ITA Men's Small College National Championships.  The event, held at the Three Oaks Tennis Center in Fort Myers, Fla., begins on Thursday (Oct. 10) and runs through Sunday.

 The USTA/ITA Small College Championships include the winners of the singles and doubles at eight USTA/ITA regional championships. The ITA National Small College Championships include selections from NCAA Division II, NAIA and junior/community colleges. 

Halpern, the DIII South Regional singles champions, will square off in an eight-player bracket with his opening-round opponent being Sam Geier of Kenyon.  The winner of that match will advance to Friday's semifinals.   The winner of the Division III competition will advance to the 'Super Bowl' bracket, along with winners of the other three divisions, to determine the winner the overall Small College ITA champion on Sunday, October 14.
