Emory Track & Field to Take Part in the Niswonger Invitational
The Emory University track and field team will return to action
this weekend, as the Eagles will partake in the two-day Niswonger
Invitational, hosted by East Tennessee State University on Friday,
January 22nd and Saturday, January 23rd.
Emory is one of 75 collegiate and club teams scheduled to compete
at the meet, along with a group of unaffiliated athletes as
well. The Emory men are slated to send 35 athletes to the
meet, while the women will have 22 competitors in action. In
total, there will be over 1,500 athletes competing at this
weekend's meet.
This will be the first meet of the season for the Eagles' distance
runners, following their successful cross country season.
Emory will also be sending a full slate of sprinters, mid-distance
runners, and field event participants to the Niswonger
Invitational.
The Niswonger Invitational will be held at the ETSU/MSHA Athletic
Center, which features a six-lane 280-meter track. The action
is scheduled for a 10:00 AM start on Friday, and an 8:00 AM start
on Saturday.
