Emory University senior Alex Greenhouse highlighted the Eagles’ opening-day effort at the  NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, earning a spot in the finals of the 400 meter hurdles.

Greenhouse, running in the third heat of the prelims, clocked in at 52.87 seconds.  He is one of the eight contestants who will be vying for the individual title in Saturday’s final.  He earns All-America honors in the event by virtue of being one of the eight finalists.

The women’s 4x100 relay team competed in the prelims but did not qualify for the finals.

On Friday, Crystal Spence (100 meter dash) and Brittany Donino (100 meter hurdles) compete in the preliminaries of their events with the finals slated for Saturday.  Lauren Attiah also qualified for nationals in the triple jump and competes on Saturday as well.

This year’s Championships are being held in Berea, Ohio, and hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College.
