Francis Named UAA Athlete of the Week for Track & Field

Emory University junior Ian Francis was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for Track and Field, after recording an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump at the Ole Miss Invitational.

Francis’ jump of 14.33 meters in the triple jump was .13 meters better than the NCAA provisional qualifying mark, and the sixth-best jump by a Division III athlete this season.  He finished ninth overall in the event.  Francis also placed 17th in the long jump with a leap of 6.24 meters.
