Emory Track & Field Heads to Clemson and Grinnell
The Emory University track and field team will send its
multi-event athletes to Grinnell College for the Darren Young
Classic on Friday, while a number of other members of the team will
compete at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational on Friday and
Saturday.
Emory will no longer be sending a contingent of athletes to the
Boston University Valentine’s Invitational, as original
scheduled, instead opting to compete at the Darren Young Classic in
Grinnell, IA. A number of members of the Emory men’s
and women’s squads will be taking part in the pentathlon,
which includes the 55-meter hurdles, long jump, shot put, high jump
and a run (the 1,000-meter run for the men, and 800-meter run for
the women). The pentathlon will be contest on Friday,
February 11th, starting at 11:00 AM.
Other Emory athletes will be making the second of three scheduled
trips to Clemson University for the Eagles this indoor season for
the Tiger Paw Invitational, slated for a 2:00 PM start of Friday,
February 11th and a 9:30 AM start on Saturday, February
12th. The Clemson meet will consist of a large
slate of events, as Emory’s athletes will be facing mostly
NCAA Division I competition.
