Emory's Francis Finishes 18th in Triple Jump at NCAAs

Emory University junior Ian Francis placed 18th in the men's triple jump during the final day of competition at the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Delaware, OH on Saturday.

Francis record a jump of 14.04 meters in the event to record his 18th-place finish.  The winning distance in the triple jump was 15.60 meters from Isaac Vazquez of the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse, while the final scoring mark was 15.01 meters from Tommy Lark of Wesleyan.

The NCAA Championships marked the end of the 2011 outdoor season mark the end of the year for the Emory track and field team.
