Emory Track & Field Heads Back to Clemson for the Tiger Tune-Up
In the team’s final outing before the 2011 University
Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships
next weekend, Emory University will return to Clemson University
for the third and final time this season to compete in the Tiger
Tune-Up on Saturday, February 19th.
The Emory women, ranked first in the latest USTFCCCA.org
South/Southeast Regional Rankings, will be sending 21 athletes to
the meet, who will be competing in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter
dash, 400-meter dash, 800-meter run, mile run, 3,000-meter run,
60-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put and
weight throw.
The Emory men will be sending 23 athletes to compete in 11 events,
including the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash,
800-meter run, 3,000-meter run, 60-meter hurdles, high jump, long
jump, triple jump, shot put and weight throw. The Eagles were
ranked third in the latest regional poll.
The meet is scheduled for a 10:00 AM start for field events on
Saturday, with the track events commencing at noon. The Tiger
Tune-Up will be held on the Clemson Indoor Track & Field
Complex, which previously hosted the Orange & Purple Classic
and the Tiger Paw Invitational, both of which Emory was a
participant in this season.
