Emory Track & Field to Compete at UNC Chapel Hill
The Emory University track and field team will head to the
University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill for the Kent Taylor-UNC
Run for the Kids Invitational on Saturday. The meet is slated
for a 9:00 AM start for field events, and a noon start for running
events.
Emory is one of 15 teams currently scheduled to compete at the
meet. Other participating squads include Concord, NC State,
Winston Salem State, High Point, Methodist, UNC Ashville, Duke,
Mount Olive, Chattahoochee Tech, Wofford, Montreat, Queens and
Elon. The meet will be held at the Eddie Smith Field House,
on the Dick Taylor Track.
Emory will be sending 19 members of its men’s team to compete
in six individual running events, five field events, and the
4x400-meter relay. The women’s squad will also be
represented by 19 athletes, who will be competing in six running
events, four field events, and the 4x400-meter relay.
This will also be the first meet of the season for the majority of
Emory’s distance runners, who will be making their indoor
track debut, following the cross country season.
