Emory Track & Field to Wrap Up 2011 at the Birmingham Ice Breaker Invitational
The Emory University track and field team will take part in its final meet of the 2011 calendar year, traveling to Birmingham, Alabama for the Birmingham Ice Breaker Invitational on Thursday, December 8th.
The meet will be the first ever held at the new Birmingham CrossPlex. The facility features a six-lane hydraulic track, designed to raise or lower the banks on the turns, depending on the event. The Ice Breaker Invitational will be hosted jointly by Birmingham-Southern College, the University of Alabama – Birmingham and Samford University.
Emory will be sending a small contingent of sprinters and mid-distance runners to the meet. Action at the Ice Breaker Invitational is slated for a 9:00 AM start on Thursday.
Results will be posted to EmoryAthletics.com as soon as they are made available following the completion of competition.
