with 8 lanes. The shot-put, hammer, and discus circles are all
concrete. The shot-put circle is located at the west end of
the track. The hammer and discus circles are located on
McDonough Field, north of the Woodruff PE Center. Javelin will be
contested on the track's infield and on McDonough Field on grass
runways.

The meet will be conducted according to NCAA Track
& Field rules.
ENTRY
PROCEDURE

directathletics.com. To register for the meets, go to the
website directathletics.com, and log in or register then log in.
Once logged in, click on meets and select either the Emory
Invitational or the Emory Classic.
**Unattached Athletes**
If you are interested in competing unattached at either the Emory Invitational or the Emory Classic, please contact Phil Logan (404-451-8485; plogan40@hotmail.com). The cost for unattached entry is $30, which will allow you to compete in up to two events. This is an entry cost and must be paid at the time of entry and is non-refundable. The same entry deadlines apply. As this is a scored collegiate invitational, unattached athletes will not advance to finals.
ENTRY
DEADLINES
Registration begins two weeks prior to the
registration deadlines for each meet. The entry deadlines for
the meets are as follows:
Emory Invitational: Tuesday, March 19th at 11:59 PM
Emory Classic: Tuesday, March 26th at 11:59 PM
ENTRY FEE
Entries are $200.00 per team. A total of $400.00
for men's and women's teams. Make checks payable to Emory
University Track. Please note that all entries fees will be
assessed and billed based on the entry deadline. Fees are
non-refundable.
ENTRY
LIMITATIONS
Because of the large number of teams anticipated
in this year's Invitational (March 22 - 23) and Emory Classic
(March 29 - 30) we will have to limit entries in all field
events and running events 800 meters and less to THREE ATHLETES per team.
In events over 800 meters you may enter FOUR ATHLETES per team.
PERFORMANCE
LISTS
Performance lists for each event will be posted
the Thursday prior to the weekend of the competition. Field
event flight assignments will be available at that time.
Designation for a cut offs for mid-distance and distance "B
Sections" will be posted on the performance lists.
MEET PACKETS
Meet packets should be picked up at the Officials
Tent on the track infield, near the finish line. Please pick
up your packet as early as possible. The tent will be staffed
90 minutes prior to the start of the meet.
HEATS/FLIGHTS
All races will be run as final heats against
time. The field events will normally have 3 preliminary
attempts, and 3 final attempts. Nine athletes will advance to
the finals. (In the case that field sizes become to large, we
reserve the right to set minimum distance requirements after one
fair throw has been recorded.)
RUNNING
EVENTS
All running event athletes must check-in with the
Clerk of the Course in the tent at the east end (steeple side) of
the track
CHECK
IN
At least 40 minutes before their scheduled race time. At
that time they should highlight their name on the posted
performance list only if, they plan to run the event. Those
not highlighted will be scratched and heat sheets will be produced
based on those pre-checked athletes only. This eliminates
empty lanes and unnecessary heats. Athletes will again
check-in 15 minutes prior to their race to receive their heat and
lane assignments, as well as their hip number. No late check-ins
will be granted.
IMPLEMENT
WEIGH-INS
Implements must be left, and clearly marked, at
the implement certification table at the west end (shot put area)
of the track at least 90 minutes prior to the start of
competition. Implements may also be left on the day prior to
the competition, from 3:00-5:00 pm. Implements passing
inspection will be delivered to their venue 45 minutes prior to
competition. Implements not pre-certified will not be allowed in
the competition and will be held at the Officials Tent on the
infield until the meet is completed.
STARTING
HEIGHTS
The starting height of the high jump and pole
vault will be determined by the head field official based on entry
marks. Per NCAA Rules, the crossbar will be raised in
increments of 5 centimeters in the high jump, and increments of 15
centimeters in the pole vault.
TIMING
LYNX System Timing will be used in all the
races.
AMENITIES
Shower facilities will be provided. Shower
supplies will not be provided. The locker facilities will not
be secured, and Emory University will not be responsible for any
lost or stolen items.
