Emory's Lena Brottman Named Outstanding Jewish Scholar-Athlete Of The Year
Freshman Lena Brottman (Palatine, IL), a member
of the 2011 Emory softball team, has been selected as the Pearl D.
Mazor Outstanding Jewish Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2011. The
award will be presented to her at the March 27, 2011, National

As a senior on the Fremd High School Team, Brottman earned 2010 ICA
3A & 4A First Team All-State honors after compiling a 30-3
won-lost mark, with her victory total a school seasonal
record. Named as a Third Team All-American on ESPN Rise, she
helped her squad to an overall slate of 33-5 that included a berth
in the Class 4A state championship game.
The National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is dedicated to honoring Jewish athletes, coaches, executives and others who have distinguished themselves in the world of sports. Each year those persons who are being inducted are honored in a ceremony held at the Suffolk Y JCC in Commack, N.Y., the home of the Hall of fame. In addition to the inductions, individual awards, such as the Pearl D. Mazor Award, are also presented at the ceremony.
