No. 2-Ranked Emory Softball Eagerly Awaits Selection Monday -- Announcement To Be Video Streamed
The No. 2-ranked Emory softball team will find out where it will
be travelling to and who it will playing on Monday (May 9) as
selections are announced to this year’s 2011 Division III
Softball Championships.
The selection show will be video streamed starting at noon (EDT).

The Eagles of head coach Penny Siqueiros stand 40-2-1 and have
captured their last 13 straight games. Emory is the No.
1-ranked team in the Atlantic Region.
A total of 60 teams will be in the hunt for this year’s
national crown. East Texas Baptist, ranked No. 3 nationally,
enters this year’s Championships looking to defend its
title.
Eight regional sites have been chosen to handle the opening rounds
of the Championships. Eight teams will be competing at six
regional locations while six squads will be playing at a pair of
regional venues. The regional hosts include: UW-Eau Claire,
Ithaca College, SUNY-Cortland, Adrian College, UT-Tyler, Salisbury,
Central College (IA) and Rhode Island College. The eight-team
regions will be held, May 12-16, while the six-team sites will be
played, May 13-16. All regional sites will use a
double-elimination format.
The winner of each regional will advance to the finals, May 20-24,
in Salem, Va.
