Emory's Misha Jackson & Hannah Lilly Earn All-UAA Basketball Honors
Emory sophomore Misha Jackson (Atlanta, GA) and
freshman Hannah Lilly (Mercer Island, WA) have
been recognized for their play during the 2010-11 season,
with both earning Second Team All-University Athletic Association
basketball honors. The all-league selections were chosen by
the conference coaches. In addition, Lilly was tabbed as the
league’s Rookie of the Year.
In her first season with the Eagles following her transfer from
Florida Southern, the 5-foot-11 Jackson started 21 of 25 games and
ranked second on the team and 15th among UAA players in
overall scoring with a 10.5 points-per-game average. She
scored in double figures on 11 occasions and recorded a pair of
season-high tying 21-point contests (at NYU, Jan. 30 & at
Carnegie Mellon on Feb. 20). She shot a team-high 48.0
percent from the field (108-of-225), good for the No. 8 spot on the
league ladder. She tied Danielle Landry for the team lead in
total rebounds with 167, and her 6.7 per-game showing in that
category ranked fifth on the UAA chart. Jackson recorded
three double-figure rebounding games and either led or shared for
the team lead in that department on 10 occasions. She chalked
up a team-high 47 steals, good for a 13th-place on the
school’s seasonal list, and her 1.9 per-game average tied for
fifth in the UAA. In league affairs, Jackson scored at an 11.2
per-game clip, good for 11th place among league
performers, while her 6.5 per-game average on the glass topped the
club and ranked fourth in the loop. She averaged 1.1 blocks per
game over 14 league encounters, good for a fourth-place tie in the
conference, and she was second in offensive rebounds (3.1 orpg).
The 5-foot-8 Lilly started 22 of 25 games and led the team in
scoring with her 11.6 per-game average ranking 11th in
the UAA. A double-figure scorer in 14 contests (eight in UAA
games), she knocked down a team-high 41 three-point field goals and
her 1.6 treys-per-game average was good for the No. 8 position on
the UAA ladder. She either led or shared for the team’s
scoring lead on seven occasions and posted the team’s top two
individual scoring performances of the campaign, 22 points in games
against Piedmont College (Dec. 4) and Sewanee (Nov. 19). In league
action, her 11.1 per-game scoring effort was good for
11th place in the league. She is just the second
Emory player to be named UAA Rookie of the Year since the award was
initiated in 2000-01, joining Stephanie Seibert in earning that
distinction.
Emory concluded the season with an overall record of 11-14, 4-10 in
UAA action.
