Emory's Hannah Lilly Captures All-Region Basketball Honors

Emory University freshman Hannah Lilly (Mercer Island, WA), a key member on the Eagles’ 2010-11 women’s basketball squad, has been recognized for her fine play this season, earning all-region honors.

The 5-foot-8 shooting guard landed a berth on D3hoops.com All-South Region Second Team and was selected as the Region Rookie of the Year.

Lilly saw action in all 25 Emory contests, 22 as a starter, and concluded the year with a team-high 11.6 per-game scoring average, good for 11th place among University Athletic Association players.  She knocked down a team-high 41 three-point field goals, tied for sixth place on the school’s seasonal chart, and her 1.6 treys per game ranked eighth in the conference.  A double-figure scorer in 14 games, she either led or shared for team scoring honors on seven occasions.  She recorded a pair of 22-point games (vs. Piedmont on Dec. 4 and Sewanee on Nov. 19) that represented the high-water marks by and Emory player during the year.

Lilly also garnered All-UAA Second Team acclaim and was tabbed as the league’s Rookie of the Year.
