McMahon Scores her Fifth Goal of the Season in 2-1 Loss to Berry

Emory University junior Meghan McMahon scored a first half goal for the Eagles, but it was not enough, as the women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 match to Berry College.

Emory struck first in the contest, as McMahon scored her team-best fifth goal of the season at the 11:05 mark, giving Emory a 1-0 lead.  Freshman Lee Bachouros was credited with an assist on the play, the first of her collegiate career.

The Eagles would maintain the lead through the first half, but Berry would come back firing in the second frame.  The Lady Vikings would notch goals in the 57th and 74th minutes to take the lead for good in the second half.

After being outshot 8-0 through the first 38 minutes of the second half, the Eagles would make a late run, taking three shots in the final seven minutes.   However, Emory was unable to connect to even the contest.

Emory fell to 4-4-5 on the season with the loss, while Berry improved to 7-4-1 with the win.  The Eagles will have a week off before continuing their road trip at the University of Rochester on Friday, October 30th
