Emory Womens Soccer to Face Oglethorpe and Birmingham Southern in Weekday Matchups
The Emory University women's soccer team will look to extend its
five-match undefeated streak this week, as the Eagles will face
Oglethorpe University and Birmingham Southern College on the
road.
On Wednesday at 3:00 PM, the Eagles will make the trip across town
to face the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels, who will enter the contest
with a 3-0-0 record in 2009, including a 14-0 win over Tennessee
Temple in their last contest. Emory defeated Oglethorpe 4-0
in their 2008 meeting. Senior Shayna Bryan
has scored a goal and two assists in two career matches against the
Stormy Petrels, while juniors Melanie Levy and
Lauren Smith each have a career goal against
Oglethorpe.
Birmingham Southern will host Emory at 7:00 PM on Friday. The
Panthers are 1-3-0 this season, including a 1-2-0 mark at
home. Friday's match will be just the second meeting between
the two programs, with the Eagles winning the 2007 matchup at the
Woodruff Physical Education Center by a 1-0 score.
Emory currently stands at 2-1-3 this season, and has not lost a
match since their season-opener. The Eagles have gone 2-1-1
in matches away from the WoodPEC this season.

season, including a 10 to four margin in their last five
contests... Emory is yet to lose to a Division III opponent this
