Emory University Eagles
Emory University will begin the weekend with an undefeated record of 4-0-1, including a 1-0-0 mark at home this season.  Emory is coming off a 3-0-1 road trip, including a 1-1 double-overtime tie against ninth-ranked Rowan University in its last outing.  The Eagles are currently ranked 17th in the nation in the latest NSCAA poll, and 15th in the most recent d3soccer.com poll.  In addition, Emory is ranked third in the latest NSCAA South Atlantic Region poll.  The Eagles are led by head coach Sue Patberg, who is 66-19-13 in her six years with the team.

Birmingham-Southern Panthers
Birmingham-Southern will enter Friday night’s match with a 2-1-0 record in 2010, including a 1-1 mark in true road matches and a 1-0 record in neutral games.  Last season, the Panthers finished the season with a 13-7-0 record, including a 6-3-0 mark in road matches.  Most recently, the squad lost its first decision of the season, suffering a 2-1 overtime defeat to Maryville College on September 6th.  The Panthers are led by fourth-year head coach Benji Walton, who has a record of 38-20-2 with the team.

Rhodes College Lynx
Rhodes currently stands at 2-3-0 in 2010, following a 1-0 loss on Wednesday at Christian Brothers University.  The Lynx are 0-1 in away matches and 1-1 in neutral games so far this season.  Last year, Rhodes finished the season with a record of 5-7-5.  The team is coached by second-year skipper Joe Vari, who is 7-10-5 with the Lynx.

Matchup Histories
This will be the third meeting between Emory and Birmingham-Southern, all three of which have taken place since Birmingham-Southern began its transition from Division I to III in 2007.  Emory has won both of the previous meeting by a goal, including last season when a Caroline Coates ‘golden goal’ gave the Eagles a 2-1 in Birmingham.

Emory and Rhodes last met in the 2008 season, when the Eagles suffered a 1-0 loss on the road to the Lynx.  However, the Eagles are 10-2-1 all time against Rhodes.

Emory Notes
The Eagles are the only remaining undefeated University Athletic Association (UAA) team this season… Emory currently ranks 34th among all Division III teams in won-lost-tied percentage, and 82nd with a .727 goals-against average… Emory goalkeeper Kaele Leonard currently ranks 38th among all Division III players with a 0.357 goals-against average and 44th with a .917 save percentage… Sophomore midfielder Lee Bachouros is ranked 115th with 0.6 assists per game… This is just the seventh time since the program began in 1986 that the Eagles have gone undefeated through their first five games… Three of those seven times have come over the past four years.
