Emory Notes
Smith’s ‘golden goal’ on Wednesday was not
only the first of her career, but also the first ‘golden
goal’ by an Eagle in a season-opening game… With the
win, Emory improved 19-4-2 all-time in season-opening games, and to
21-2-2 in home openers… Lauren Gorodetsky
became the first Emory freshman to score a goal in a season opener
since Jillian Brady did so in 2005… Emory is 101-27-15 in
September games since 1993, and 19-2-5 in September since
2007… The Eagles have not lost in 30 of their last 31 games
at the Woodruff Physical Education Center.
