It's That Time Of Year!
The Emory women's soccer team has been had at work since
Aug. 19 in preparation for the 2011 campaign. The
Eagles are coming off a stellar effort last
season, reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division
III Championships last season for the first time in school history,
while posting a won-lost mark of 16-2-4 along with a No. 5 national
ranking.
Recently, the team was picked, along with the University of
Chicago, to finish first in the University Athletic Association
(UAA) in 2011, according to the conference's preseason coaches'
poll.
“The team has been competing hard and we have had some good
training sessions,” assistant coach Rachel Moreland
stated. “Our veterans have done a great job of getting
the younger players acclimated and the team is getting better and
better everyday.”
Emory will open its season on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Chapman
University in Orange, California.
