Senior Hannah Meyer and freshman Shivani Beall earned First Team honors with senior Cristina Ramirez, junior Anna Gurney, sophomore Danielle Darius and freshman Caroline Kolski being tabbed as Honorable Mentions.

    Patberg Notches Win #300 as Emory Dominates Brevard College, 5-0 The Emory University Women’s Soccer team dominated Division II Brevard College Tuesday night at the Woodruff Physical Education Center, defeating the Tornados 5-0 to give Head Coach Sue Patberg win No. 300 in her career. Patberg, who is in her 23rd season as a head coach now stands at 300-129-54 overall and is 154-42-36 in her 12 seasons guiding the Eagles. She becomes the 56th head coach in NCAA Women’s Soccer history to reach that milestone.

The Eagles fall to 2-2 in UAA play, sitting one game behind first place Carnegie Mellon and University of Chicago, now both at 3-1 in the conference after Sunday.

    Eagles Shutout CWRU, 4-0, Behind Four First Half Tallies Senior Cristina Ramirez scored twice and added an assist to lead the Emory University Women’s Soccer team to a bounce back win, defeating Case Western Reserve University by a score of 4-0 on Friday evening at the Woodruff PE Center. With the victory, the Eagles improved to 2-1 in UAA action and 8-4 overall while the Spartans fell to 5-5-3 on the season and 0-2-1 in conference play.

The Scots were originally slated to play Covenant College on Tuesday night but that match has been rescheduled for Wednesday evening due to inclement weather in the area on Tuesday. There has been no makeup date scheduled at this time between Emory and Maryville.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 2-3 overall while the Maroons improved to 1-3 on the season. Emory controlled possession throughout the contest, outshooting Roanoke 17-4 but it was not enough as the Eagles suffered the one goal defeat. Freshman Shivani Beall led both teams with five shots, four on goal.

For the second time in their first three contests, the Eagles dominated in all facets from start to finish. Emory outshot Redlands 25-1, including a 12-0 margin in shots on goal, and did not allow the Bulldogs to record a single shot until the 90th minute of the game.

    Women's Soccer Breezes Past Averett, 7-0, in Season Opener The Emory University Women’s Soccer team started the 2016 season off on the right foot on Thursday afternoon as the Eagles dominated Averett University from the opening kickoff en route to a 7-0 victory at the OrthoCarolina Sports Complex in Charlotte, NC. Six different Eagles registered a goal and the Eagles outshot the Cougars 48-1, including a 26-0 margin in shots on goal, in the seven-goal win. The 48 shots were the seventh most totaled by an Emory team in program history and the Eagles did not allow a shot by Averett until 10 minutes into the second half.

    Women's Soccer Opens 2016 Season Thursday Against Averett The Emory Women’s Soccer team opens the 2016 season this week with three games in a five-day span beginning with a neutral contest against Averett in Charlotte, NC before heading to Redlands, California for two games against California Lutheran and University of Redlands on Sunday and Monday. After losing just four seniors to graduation a year ago, the Eagles return 18 letter winners looking to improve upon last year’s 8-6-4 record.
