Emory University’s Jon Howell was named CaptainU’s NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year for the 2010-11 season.

Howell’s guidance helped the Emory women’s squad to its fourth National Championship, and it’s second in a row.  The Emory women claimed national titles in three individual events and three relays at the meet, and set an new NCAA D-III record in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:42.82.  13 different Eagles claimed all-America honors, and 11 new varsity records were set.

Howell was also named the Women’s Coach of the Year by the NCAA after the National Championship meet, the fourth time he has received the honor.  Earlier in the year, Howell claimed his sixth University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year honors after the team won its 13th-straight conference championship.
