Emory Swimming & Diving to Begin 2011 at Tampa

The Emory University swimming and diving teams will head south following their return from winter break, traveling to Florida to face the Division II University of Tampa.

Both the Emory men and women will enter the meet at the second-ranked NCAA Division III squads, according to the latest CollegeSwimming.com/CSCAA poll.  Both teams are also 0-3 in dual meets this season, with all three losses coming to NCAA Division I squads.

This will be the first meet for the Eagles in 2011.  Emory last competed at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational on December 4th, where the men came away with a first-place finish, and the women with a second-place finish.  The two squads combined for five new program records at the meet, while notching 45 'A' cut times and 125 'B' cut times during the preliminaries and finals.

The University of Tampa men are 4-3 this season, and are currently the 14th-ranked team among NCAA Division II squads.  The women are ranked 15th in Division II with an overall record of 6-1 in dual meets.

The meet is scheduled for an 11:00 am start on Monday, January 10th.
