Emory University swimmers Oliver Smith and Fiona Muir swept the University Athletic Association Swimming Athlete of the Week awards as announced Monday night.
Smith registered a NCAA B Cut time of 20.33 in the 50 Free as he claimed the lone event win for the Eagles on Saturday against the University of Georgia. Smith added a sixth place effort in the 100 Free (47.28) and was a member of a pair of top-4 relay teams in the 400 Free (2nd, 3:05.78) and 200 Medley (4th, 1:31.87).
Muir turned in a pair of fourth place individual showings as the Eagles lost to UGA on Saturday. She posted times of 24.29 in the 50 Free and 52.78 in the 100 Free and added two top-four relay finishes as a member of the 400 Free Relay (4th, 3:33.69) and 200 Medley Relay (4th, 1:48.36).
Emory will be back in the pool next week as the Eagles host the 2018 UAA Swimming and Diving Championships. He meet runs from Wednesday, February 14th through Saturday, February 17th.
