Emory Women's Tennis Announces Team Awards
Emory University head women's tennis coach Amy
Bryant announced the team awards for the 2008-09 season,
headlined by co-Most Valuable Players Lorne
McManigle and Lindsay Reidenbach.
McManigle became the second player in the program's history to win
the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Singles Championship, finishing
the year as the top-ranked singles player in the nation. The
sophomore went 25-10 in singles matches and 23-6 with four
different doubles partners during the campaign.
Reidenbach finished the year with a 24-4 record in singles matches,
leading the team with a .857 winning percentage, the 16th-best
single-season mark in the program's history. The sophomore
went 21-2 against Division III opponents during the season,
including just one loss to a Division III counterpart in dual-match
play.

20-match winners: Zahra Dawson, Lorne McManigle, Lindsay
Reidenbach
The Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Most Improved and
Sportsmanship awards are voted on by members of the team, while the
Coach's Award is selected by the coaching staff. Academic
awards are given to upperclassmen players with a 3.5 GPA or higher
during the spring season.
In addition, the Eagles have voted on and selected their captains
for the 2009-10 season. Joining returning captains and rising
seniors Sabra Rogers and Tshema
Nash will be Sara Vrabec, who will also
be a senior next season.
The Eagles finished third at the 2009 NCAA Division III Team
Championships.
