McManigle and Dawson Fall During Day 1 of the ITA Nationals

Emory University's Lorne McManigle and Zahra Dawson each lost
matches during the first day of the ITA Small College
Nationals.
McManigle lost a marathon match in the first round of the singles
bracket, falling 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 to Elizabeth Lewis of Chapman
University. The junior will face Kathryn Schmidt of Carleton
College in the consolation bracket at 10:30 AM on Friday.
McManigle and Dawson also lost in the doubles bracket, dropping a
1-6, 7-5, 10-7 match to Laura Chen and Ashley Herrick
of Carnegie Mellon University. In their first
consolation match, the duo defeated the tournament's top seed,
Kendra Higgins and Chrissy Hu of the University of Chicago
6-4, 7-6(2).
Action at the ITA Small College Nationals will continue on Friday.
