Eagles Struggle on Day 2 of the ITA Small College Nationals
Emory University's Lorne McManigle and
Zahra Dawson suffered a pair of loses during the
second day of competition at the ITA Small College Nationals in
Mobile, Alabama.
In the consolation round of the singles bracket, McManigle fell for
the second-straight match, losing to Kathryn Schmidt of Carleton
College 6-1, 2-6, 6-1. It was her second three-set loss of
the tournament.
In doubles action, McManigle and Dawson fell in the fifth-place
match to Abby Olbrich and Sallie Katter of Linfield College,
2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (1). With the loss, the Eagles finished the
tournament in sixth place.
McManigle will conclude the tournament on Saturday morning at 11:00
AM, as she will face Katty Poettcker of Trinity University in the
seventh-place match.
