McManigle & Dawson Receive Assignments for the ITA National Small College Championships

With the brackets set for this week's ITA Women's National Small
College Championships, Emory's Wilson/ITA South Region Champions
now know who they will be playing in Mobile, Alabama.
Emory junior Lorne McManigle will be the top seed
in the singles bracket, and open the tournament against Elizabeth
Lewis of Chapman University on Thursday at 8:30 AM. The
winner of the match will move on to the semifinal round of the
eight-person bracket on Friday at 10:30 AM, facing the winner
of the Kathryn Schmidt (Carleton)/ Julia Browne (Tufts)
contest.
In the doubles bracket, McManigle will team with sophomore
Zahra Dawson to face University Athletic
Association (UAA) rivals Laura Chen and Ashley Herrick of Carnegie
Mellon University at 1:30 PM on Thursday. Should the Eagles
win, they will advance to face the winner of the first round match
between top-seeded Kendra Higgins and Chrissy Hu (Chicago) and
Jackie Shtemberg and Felice Trinh (College of NJ) on Thursday at
5:00 PM.
With action beginning on Thursday at the Copeland-Cox Tennis
Center, the singles tournament will conclude with the championship
match on Saturday, while the doubles champion will be crowned on
Friday. The bracket winners will advance to the ‘Super
Bowl' which will pit winning players from the NCAA Division II,
Division III, NAIA and Junior College brackets against each other.
