Emory Womens Tennis Head Coach Amy Bryant Announces Four 2010 Commitments
The Emory University women's tennis team will welcome four new
members to the squad in the fall of 2010 as high school seniors
Gabrielle Clark (Chicago, IL/ Univ. of Chicago
Laboratory), Malavika Padmanabhan (Saratoga, CA/
Saratoga), Taylor Brandt (Beverly Hills, CA/
Brentwood) and Brenna Kelly (North Oaks, MN/
Mounds Park) have all committed to Emory.
Gabrielle Clark is currently listed as a four-star recruit by
TennisRecruiting.net. Likely one of the top Division III
recruits this year, she is ranked as the 106th-best
player in the nation in her class, and the ninth-best player in
Illinois. Her overall record is 39-28, including a mark of
32-6 against opponents ranked as four-star recruits or lower.
"We are very excited that Gabbie has chosen to enroll at Emory,"
said Emory head coach Amy Bryant. "She will
excel both athletically and academically here. On the court,
Gabbie is an extremely athletic player who will contribute in both
singles and doubles competition."
Malavika Padmanabhan is also a four-star recruit, ranked
188th amongst nationwide players in her class and
36th in California. She holds a record of 15-16,
including a 14-9 mark against four-star or lower ranked
opponents.
"Mika fit in immediately with our program when she came for a
visit," said Bryant. "We are very excited to have her join
the Eagles."
Taylor Brandt is a three-star recruit, ranked 315th in
the nation in her class and 62nd in California.
She is 10-18 overall, including 9-6 against three-star or lower
players.
Brenna Kelly is a three-star recruit, ranked second amongst her
class in the State of Minnesota, and 324th in the
nation. She holds an 11-6 overall record, including a win
over a blue-chip prospect.
"Taylor and Brenna round out our 2010 freshman recruiting class,"
said Bryant. "We are excited to have all four players join
our roster, especially since we graduate 4 seniors this year."
The Emory University women's tennis team will open the 2010 spring
season ranked third among NCAA Division III institutions on
February 14th at Clayton State University.
