Emory Women’s Tennis to Host Fab 10 Tournament

The Emory University women’s tennis team, ranked third among
NCAA Division III squads, will welcome nine other top-ranked teams
to Atlanta, GA over a week-long period for the Fab 10 Tournament,
starting on Friday, March 25th.
Along with Emory, competing teams will include second-ranked
Williams College, the fourth-ranked University of Chicago,
seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University, eighth-ranked Tufts
University, ninth-ranked Washington and Lee University,
10th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College,
12th-ranked Middlebury College, the
18th-ranked University of Mary Washington and the
22nd-ranked University of the South.
Included in the field of competitors will be 28 regionally-ranked
singles player, and 14 regionally-ranked doubles pairings.
Also, the last two NCAA Division III singles champions, Julia
Browne from Tufts and Lorne McManigle from Emory,
in addition to the two-time reigning doubles champions, Kendra
Higgins and Chrissy Hu from Chicago, are scheduled to compete.
Play will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, March 25th and
continue with four matches each day throughout the weekend.
There will be one match a day from Monday through Thursday.
Matches will be held at both the Woodruff Physical Education Center
on Emory’s main campus, and the Student Athletic and Academic
Center on the Clairmont Campus. A full schedule with venues
and times for each match and directions to both sites are available
on the tournament website. If attending, please make sure to
note parking instructions for each site.
Emory is slated to face Middlebury at 7:00 PM on March
25th, Tufts at 1:00 PM on March 27th,
Gustavus Adolphus at 3:00 PM on March 29th, and Williams
College at 2:00 PM on March 31st. All of
Emory’s matches will be played at the Woodruff P.E.
Center.
