#3 Emory Women’s Tennis to Play at Brenau on Thursday

The third-ranked Emory University women’s tennis team will be back in action this week, playing at Brenau University in Gainesville, GA on Thursday, February 17th at 3:00 PM.

This will be the first of two meeting between the two squads, as Brenau will visit Emory on May 5th for both teams’ regular season finale.

The Eagles will enter the match with an overall record of 1-2, after losing two close matches to NCAA Division I Georgia State University (6-3) and top-NAIA school Auburn University Montgomery (5-4), while defeating NCAA Division III Huntingdon College (9-0) during the opening week of the season.

The Tigers are currently 0-1 in 2011, after losing to Georgia State (7-2) during their season’s opening match, and will also play at North Georgia College and State University on Tuesday, before hosting the Eagles on Thursday.  Brenau junior Lyn See Choo is currently the 22nd-ranked NAIA player, while senior Kate Mazackova is ranked 48th, and the two pair for the 11th-ranked doubles duo.

Last season, the two teams met twice, with Emory winning 5-4 at Brenau on February 20th, and claiming a 7-2 win at the Woodruff P.E. Center on May 2nd.  Emory is 17-8 all time against the Tigers.
