#3 Emory Women’s Tennis to Host Fifth-Ranked Denison; Featured on SI.com

The Emory University women’s tennis team will return to action on Wednesday, as the third-ranked Eagles will take on fifth-ranked Denison University at the Woodruff P.E. Center at 4:00 PM.

Denison will be the fourth-straight opponent ranked in the top-15 nationally for the Eagles, and the third-straight ranked among the top-eight.  Emory, 6-2 overall on the season, is 4-0 against NCAA Division III opponents this season, and is coming off its second-straight ITA NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor Tennis Championship.

Denison, 3-2 on the campaign, also played at the ITA Indoor Championships, advancing to the semifinals before losing to the fourth-ranked University of Chicago.  The Big Red feature regionally ranked singles players Kristin Cobb (fifth) and Kelsey Geppner (20th), and the duo also makes up the regionally seventh-ranked doubles pairing.

The Emory women’s tennis team and junior Laura Callava also received some national recognition for their ITA Indoor Championship.  In Jon Wetheim’s Tennis Mailbag column for SI.com, the Eagles are mentioned under the ‘Shots, Miscellany’ section.  To read the complete article, go to: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/jon_wertheim/03/08/mailbag/index.html.
