(Tennis) Emory University senior Zahra Dawson claimed the match-clinching singles victory during the fifth-ranked Eagles third round victory over seventh-ranked Washington and Lee University. The 20th-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South Region battled to a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 win over Patricia Kirkland (ranked 18th in the region) in the third singles match, giving the Eagles’ the clinching point in the team’s 5-2 win.

(Tennis) Emory University sophomore Malavika Padmanabhan won both of her singles matches and one of her two doubles contests at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships in Altamonte Springs, FL last weekend.

(Tennis) Emory University sophomore Brenna Kelly went 4-0 in fifth singles play and 3-1 in second doubles matches last week. During a suspended match against the Division I University of Alabama – Birmingham on Tuesday, Kelly won her singles match 6-4, 6-2, and teamed with Malavika Padmanabhan to defeat their doubles counterparts 8-6.

(Tennis) Emory University senior Zahra Dawson won both of her singles and doubles matches during a pair of victories for the second-ranked Eagles against nationally-ranked opponents last week. On Thursday’s 9-0 win against the 16th-ranked University of the South, Dawson teamed with Gabrielle Clark in the first doubles match to claim an 8-1 win over the region’s fifth-ranked pairing.

(Tennis) Emory University senior Zahra Dawson won her only singles match and both of her doubles matches during the Eagles’ Puerto Rico trip last week. Against the University of Puerto Rico – Mayaguez, Dawson teamed with Gabrielle Clark to win the first doubles match by an 8-0 score.

(Tennis) Emory University junior Jordan Wylie won the first singles match and third doubles match during the third-ranked Eagles’ 7-2 win over Shorter College, the 15th-ranked NAIA squad. Facing the nationally 22nd-ranked player in the NAIA, Wylie earned a straight-set 6-1, 6-2 victory.

(Tennis) Emory University freshman Catharine Harris won all three of her singles matches last week, helping the third-ranked Eagles to a 2-1 record. Against Columbus State University on Saturday, the 12th-ranked Division II team, Harris scored the only point for the Eagles with a 6-3, 7-5 win in the fourth singles match.

(Tennis) Emory University sophomore Brenna Kelly claimed a singles victory during the third-ranked Eagles’ loss to Auburn University Montgomery on Sunday. Kelly was leading AUM’s Hagar Caro 6-2, 4-1, when Caro retired from the match, giving Kelly the victory.

The third-seeded pairing won both of their first two matches of the draw in straight sets, before defeating top-seeded Laura Chen and Courtney Chin of Carnegie Mellon University 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in the championship match.
