Senior Bridget Harding and freshman Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico were named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. It is the fifth time Harding has earned the award this season and the 14th time in her career while this is Gonzalez-Rico's fifth selection of the year.
Harding and Gonzalez-Rico advanced to the national semifinals in the NCAA Doubles Championships with straight set victories over Tufts and MIT before falling to Wesleyan's Eudice Chong and Victoria Yu in the final four. The Emory duo went 3-3 for the week including an 8-1 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the national championship match. Harding and Gonzalez-Rico posted a school record 34 wins over the course of the season, finishing with an overall record of 34-7.
