Emory Women's 4x100-Meter Relay Team Finishes Second at the NCAA Championships

On the final day of competition at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships, Emory University's 4x100-meter relay team of senior Jordan Beall, freshmen Monique Osigbeme and Alix Dyer, and junior Mary Crystal Spence finished second overall in the event.

The quartet became the first 4x100-meter relay team in the history of the Emory women's  track and field program to break 47 seconds in the event, recording a school-record time of 46.91 seconds.  The Eagles finished second behind Wartburg College, which won the event in a time of 46.21 seconds.

The second-place finish gives the Eagles eight points for the meet, currently placing the Eagles in 13th place.

Emory's 4x100-meter relay team also earned all-America honors in the event, becoming the first relay in the history of the program to do so.

Also in action during the final day of the championships was freshman Lauren Attiah, who finished 10th in the triple jump with a distance of 11.33 meters.

With the Eagles' competition at the NCAA Championships finished, Emory has completed its 2008-09 track and field season.
