Osigbeme Finishes 12th, Spence 14th, in 100-Meter Dash at NCAA Championships
Emory University had two athletes competing in the preliminaries
of the 100-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Track and Field
Championships on Friday, as freshman Monique
Osigbeme and junior Mary Crystal Spence
finished 12th and 14th, respectively.
Both Emory runners competed in the second of three heats, with
Osigbeme finishing fifth in the heat with a mark of 12.42 seconds,
while Spence finished sixth in a time of 12.48 seconds. The
last qualifying time for Saturday's finals was 12.30 seconds.
The Eagles will conclude their season with the final day of the
NCAA Championships on Saturday. Emory freshman Lauren
Attiah will compete in the triple jump at 11:30 AM on
Saturday, while the Eagles' 4x100-meter relay team will run in the
finals of the event at 1:10 PM.
