Was a three-year letterwinner on the Berkeley Preparatory School track & field team, serving as the team captain during her senior year... Was the district champion in the 3,200-meter run during her junior year, and the runner-up in the event during her sophomore and senior years... Was the school's record holder in the 5,000-meter run... Recorded career-best times of 19:27 in the 5,000-meter run, 11:49 in the 3,200-meter run, and 5:31 in the 1,600-meter run... Earned the Track Coach's Award during her sophomore, junior and senior years... Coached by Fred Steier and Eileen Daly in high school.
