Emorys Alix Dyer Named Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the UAA
Emory University sophomore Alix Dyer was named
the University Athletic Association's (UAA) Athlete of the Week for
women's track and field, based on her performance at the Clemson
Games last weekend.
Dyer recorded a NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 400-meter
dash at the Clemson Games last weekend, finishing eighth in the
event with a time of 58.28 seconds, just two-hundredths of a second
off her career-best indoor time. Her time was the
fourth-fastest by a Division III runner in the 400-meter dash this
season, and the fastest among all UAA competitors.
Dyer also ran the anchor leg of Emory's 4x400-meter relay team,
which finished seventh in a time of 4:04.97.
This marks the second time this season Dyer has received the honor,
after having previously been named the Athlete of the Week for the
week of December 7th. This is the third time
overall a member of the Emory women's track and field team has been
recognized by the UAA.
Emory will return to action this weekend at the Tiger Indoor
Invitational on Saturday.
