Emory Track & Field Hits the Road for Duke & Jacksonville State Meets

The Emory University track and field team, fresh off a pair of home meets, will take to the road for the first time in the 2010 outdoor season, traveling to the Duke Invitational and the Gem of the Hills Invitational this weekend.

The Duke Invitational will start with the field events at noon on Friday, April 2nd, and continue with the track events at 1:00 PM.  Action will resume on Saturday at 9:00 AM.  The meet will be held at Wade Wallace Stadium on the Duke University campus.  The Eagles will be sending a group of distance and mid-distance runners to the meet.

The Gem of the Hills Invitational is scheduled for an 8:00 AM start on Saturday morning.  The meet will be held at the Gamecock Track and Field Complex, and will feature team scoring.  Emory’s sprinters and some distance runners will be headed to Jacksonville, AL for the meet.

Emory’s men are coming off a second-place finish at the Emory Classic last week, and a first-place finish at the Emory Invitational the week before.  The Emory women finished first at last week’s Emory Classic, and third at the Emory Invitational.
