Three Eagles Record Provisional Times at Clemson & Sewanee
During meets at Clemson University and the University of the
South this weekend, three Emory athletes recorded NCAA provisional
qualifying times.
At the Tiger Tune Up, hosted by Clemson, sophomore Alix
Dyer recorded a provisional time of 58.13 seconds in the
400-meter dash. Also at Clemson, Rebecca
Flink finished first in the mile run (5:10.74),
Paul Winterhalter claimed the top spot in the
3,000-meter run with a program record time of 8:38.12, and the
Emory women's 4x400-meter relay team of Alisha
Reynolds, Melanie Levy, Hadiza
Sa-Aadu and Dyer finished first with a time of
4:02.05.
At the Sewanee Indoor Invitational, freshman Nelson
Nwannunu reached a distance of 14.09 meters in the triple
jump, an NCAA provisional time and the fifth-best jump in school
history. Emory's other provisional qualifying mark came from
sophomore Lauren Attiah, who jumped a distance of
11.41 meters in the triple jump for a second-place finish.
The Eagles will have one more meet, the NYU Fast Track next
weekend, before the 2010 University Athletic Association (UAA)
Championships in Boston, MA from March
5th-6th.
