Attiah Earns Second-Straight UAA Athlete of the Week Honor
Emory University junior Lauren Attiah was named
the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) Athlete of the
Week for Women’s Track and Field, following her performance
at last week’s Gregory Invitational, the final meet of the
regular season for the Eagles.
Attiah recorded a season-best jump of 11.70 meters in the triple
jump, good for a third-place finish at the meet and the
17th-best mark this season by an NCAA Division III
athlete. She also ran the third leg of the Eagles’
first-place 4x100-meter relay team, which recorded a time of 47.50
seconds, the seventh-best time by a Division III squad during the
season. Attiah will be competing in both events at this
week’s NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field
Championships.
This was the third time this season that Attiah has won the
award. It was also the seventh time in her career that she
has been named the UAA Athlete of the Week.
Attiah and the rest of the group of qualifying Eagles will compete
at the NCAA Division III Championships from May 26th
– 28th at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware,
Ohio.
