Eagles to Split Squad Between Three Weekend Track & Field Meets

The Emory University track and field team will have a busy weekend coming up, as the Eagles will take part in three meets, traveling to the Duke Invitational, the Furman Invitational, and the Ole Miss Invitational.

The Duke Invitational is scheduled for a noon start on Friday, April 8th, and will continue through April 9th, with a 9:00 AM start on Saturday.  The Furman Invitational is scheduled for a 7:30 AM start on Saturday, while the Ole Miss Invitational will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday.

Emory is currently scheduled to send eight women and seven women to the Duke Invitational, who will compete in the distance and mid-distance events, including the 800-meter run, 1,500-meter run, 2,000-meter steeplechase, 3,000-meter steeplechase, 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run.  Athletes attending include Sara Gelb, Melanie Frank, Sarah Klass, Tess Gallegos, Jennifer Feinberg, Emily Caesar, Meredith Lorch, Natalie Fenn, Kevin Lanza, Tim Halinski, Geraint Davies, Ty Trumbo, Cameron Edwards, William Matheson and Eric Weiner.  Fans can follow the Duke Invitational with live results at http://www.flashresults.com/2011_Meets/outdoor/04-09-DukeInvite/.

The largest contingent of Emory athletes will be headed to the Furman Invitational in Greenville, SC on Saturday, as the Eagles will be competing in a variety of sprints, throws, jumps and distance events.   Eagles currently scheduled to attend include Courtlandt Perkins, Pat Lanter, Jide Lawal, Nick Cortellessa, Jason Campbell, Aaron Gregg, Joel Rosen, Manvir Heir, Eric Lawson, Wesley Ghasem, Scott Greathouse, Brad Pruente, Somon Nader, Tony Lombardo, Xavier Fowler, Ben Euwer, Thomas Bright, Scott Jarvis, Alex Fleischhacker, Diego Flores-Alvarez, Hank Ashforth, Phylicia Adams, Theresa Ford, Sabrina Jeppsson, Calley Edwards, Lucie Pyle, Celeste Banks, Charlotte Diggs, Ijeoma Okafor, Alison Browne, Melissa Notis, Ann Wolber, Khadijah Ameen, Hillary Burdette-Sapp, Sarah Pitman, Rasheika Martin, Carolyn Olsen, Lauren Olszewski, Maryclaire Regan, Paulina Belsky, Rachel Borrelli and Sally Peterson
