Emory Track & Field Sets Aim at the UAA Championship in Chicago

The Emory University track and field team will travel to
the University of Chicago this weekend, for the University Athletic
Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday
and Sunday.
On the men’s side of the meet, squads competing that were
featured in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division III poll include
12th-ranked Washington University and
22nd-ranked NYU. For the women, Chicago will enter
the meet as the 17th-ranked squad nationally. The
Emory men and women are each ranked second in the South/Southeast
Region.
Emory will enter the meet with a number of athletes ranked in the
top-three in the conference in events this season. For the
women, junior Alix Dyer has recorded the
second-best times in the UAA this season in the 55-meter dash,
200-meter dash and 400-meter dash, junior Lauren
Attiah is ranked first in the triple jump and second in
the long jump, junior Jasmine McCullough is second
in the 55-meter hurdles, and junior Tess Gallegos
is third in the 5,000-meter run. In addition, Emory’s
women’s 4x400-meter relay team is ranked second in the
UAA.
For the men, junior Ben Euwer is ranked first in
the shot put, while Emory features the second-ranked performers
with sophomore Tony Lombardo in the pole vault,
freshman Mike Moserowitz in the long jump, and
junior Ian Francis in the triple jump. Emory
also has the second-seeded men’s 4x400-meter relay team.
The meet will be held at the Henry Crown Fieldhouse, on the
University of Chicago campus. Action at the UAA Championships
will begin with the field events on Saturday at noon, while the
track events will start at 2:00 PM on Saturday. On Sunday,
the field events will kick off at 10:00 AM, while the track events
will continue at noon.
