Eagles’ Track & Field to Host Emory Invitational to Kick-Off Outdoor Season

The Emory University track and field team will open its 2012 outdoor season this weekend, hosting the annual Emory Invitational from Friday, March 23rd through Saturday, March 24th at the Woodruff Physical Education Center.
Action at the meet will begin with the field events at 3:00 PM and the track events at 4:30 PM on Friday. The meet will resume on Saturday, with track events scheduled for a 9:00 AM start, and the field events beginning at 9:30 AM.
Fans unable to attend the meet can follow the competition throughout the weekend with live-updating results at http://www.ptgrouponline.com/Live/2012/Emory/3-23-12/index.htm. There will also be a live video webcast of the meet on Saturday only, starting at 9:30 AM and continuing throughout the day until the end of competition. The webcast can be viewed at http://go.emory.edu/Webcasts/TrackWebcast.html. In order to watch the webcast, fans will need to have RealPlayer installed on their computer, the latest version of which can be downloaded for free from real.com.
The Emory Invitational will feature a team-scoring format. Along with Emory, schools competing at the meet include Columbus State, Birmingham Southern, Cedarville, Oglethorpe, Anderson, Alma, Concordia, Wisconsin Eau Clare, Clayton State, Hope, Wittenberg, Lee, Oglethorpe, Georgia Tech, Wilmington, and a contingent of unattached runners.
Results in HTML format will be posted to EmoryAthletics.com following each day of competition at the meet. A full meet recap will be posted to the website as well, after competition is completed on Saturday.
