August 1, 2016 13 Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors; Pietsch Named Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year Rising junior Daniel Pietsch of the Emory University track and field program was named the Outdoor Men’s Track Scholar Athlete of the Year as announced by the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) late last week. Pietsch is the first Emory athlete to earn an Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.
Three Emory Track And Field Athletes Earn Prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships Emory University’s Lukas Mees, Jacob Seigel and Julie Williamson, all recent graduates and members of the Eagles’ outdoor track and field program, have been awarded the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, bestowed upon student-athletes who excel academically and athletically, while also serving as leaders in the community.
June 23, 2016 2016 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Season Recap Building off their success of the indoor season, the 4x400m Relay team helped the Emory University Women’s Track & Field team to a 51st place finish at the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, marking the fourth time the Eagles have scored at the meet in the last five seasons.
June 22, 2016 2015-16 Women's Indoor Track & Field Season Recap Led by the 4x400m Relay team, the Emory University Women’s Track & Field team came in 28th place with eight points at the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA. The 4x400m Relay comprised of sophomores Julia Leventhal, Erica Goldman and freshmen Dilys Osei and Ariana Newhouse registered a second place finish in the event with a time of 3:52.33, becoming just the second ever Emory relay team to earn indoor All-America honors. Their season place showing also marked the highest by at indoor nationals in Emory history (individual or relay).
June 22, 2016 Mees, Williamson, Pietsch Named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans Three members of the Emory University Track & Field teams, Lukas Mees, Julie Williamson and Daniel Pietsch, were recognized as Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-Americans as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon. Mees was named to the First Team with Williamson and Pietsch earning spots on the second team. With his first team selection, Mees becomes just the seventh men’s track & field/cross country student-athlete in Emory history to garner Academic All-America First Team honors.

Ariana NewhouseWomen's Track & Field Sophomore Ariana Newhouse was the lone non-DI runner to advance to the finals of the 400m Dash at the ETSU Invitational with a time of 59.64, the fifth fastest time during prelims. Her time ranks first in the UAA and 17th nationally. Newhouse added a 30th place showing in the 200m Dash with a time of 26.69, a time that places her fourth among UAA performers. Read More
Alexa YoungWomen's Track & Field Senior Alexa Young posted a time of 2:20.72 in the 800m Run to finish fourth in the event at the BSC Indoor Icebreaker on Friday. Her time was her second fastest time of her career and currently ranks seventh nationally in the event. Read More
Amy HunterWomen's Track & Field Freshman Amy Hunter had an impressive debut for the Eagles on Friday. In the triple jump, Hunter placed fifth among DI and DIII competitors with a mark of 11.26m. That distance was the second longest in program history and currently ranks fifth nationally. Read More
