Emory Volleyball Win Streak Snapped At 12

The No. 3-ranked Emory University volleyball team saw its 12-match
win streak come to an end Saturday evening as it came out on the
short end of a five-set decision at Lee University. The
Flames upped their record to 19-4 following a 23-25, 25-222, 20-25,
25-13, 15-8 decision over the Eagles who fell to 20-3.
Emory finished the contest with a 10.1 attack percentage
(50-33-169) compared to Lee's 23.9 percent (60-22-159). Lee
finished with a 75-69 edge in digs and 15-12 advantage in total
blocks.
Senior Alysse Meyer was the lone Eagle to finish in double figures
in kills, racking up 15 terminations. Freshman Alex Duhl
totaled nine kills while junior Amelia McCall contributed
eight. Sophomore Natalie Schonefeld dished out 43 assists
while classmate Jessica McAlvany came up with a team-high 12
digs.
Emory returns to action on Monday when it ventures to Florence,
Ala., to take on the University of Puerto Rico and North Alabama.
