Emory Cross Country Winds Up Season At NCAA D-III Championships

The Emory University women's cross country team closed out the 2009 season with a 32nd-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships.  The competition was held at the Highland Park Golf Course in Cleveland, Ohio.

Senior Rebbecca Flink lead the team's effort, covering the 6K course in a time of 23:47, placing her 122nd in the 280-runner field.  Junior Natalie Fenn was the next Eagle to cross the finish line with her showing of 24:07 placing her 159th.  Rounding out the team's scorers were junior Jenny Feinberg (25:14), sophomore Tess Gallegos (25:15) and freshman Calley Edwards (25:20).

Capturing the team championship was Wisconsin-Eau Claire with 171 points.  St. Lawrence claimed runner-up honors with 180 points while Calvin College captured third with 195 points.
