Emory Cross Country Teams Compete At Sewanee Invitational
The Emory University men's and women's cross country teams will
take part in the 29th annual Sewanee Invitational on Saturday
(Sept. 5). The women's 5K competition begins at 10:00 a.m. while
the men's 8k race is slated to start at 11:00 a.m. The
Invitational will be held at the Sewanee Golf Course.
Along with Emory, some of the other teams scheduled to compete
include Birmingham Southern, Bryan, Centre, Covenant, Evansville,
Gadsden State, Lee, Maryville, defending champion Mississippi
State, Oglethorpe, Piedmont Reinhardt. Rhodes and Tennessee Tech,
Tennessee Wesleyan, North Alabama and host Sewanee.
Last year, both the Emory men's and women's teams recorded a second
place finishes out of 16.
Heading into the weekend, the Emory men's squad is ranked
18th in the nation among Division III teams in the
latest USTFCCCA Poll while the women are ranked
27th.
