No. 10 LaGrange Silences Emory's Bats in Mid-Week Game

The Emory University Baseball team dropped a non-conference contest on the road Tuesday night, falling to 10th-ranked LaGrange College, 8-0, at Cleaveland Field at Williamson Stadium in LaGrange, GA.

The Panthers held the Eagles to just three hits on the evening to improve to 3-1 on the season while Emory dropped to 1-2.

LaGrange did all of its damage early in the game, striking first with two runs in the second inning before extending their lead to 7-0 with five runs in the bottom of the third. The Panthers tacked on another run for good measure in the fourth to provide the final result.

Senior Bubby Terp, junior Eric Terry and sophomore Christopher Stern tallied the hits for the visitors while freshmen Jack Moore, Jared Gaer, Christian Bradley and sophomore Michael Leeder pitched well in relief of starter James Robertson, limiting the Panthers to just one run over the final 5.2 frames to go along with six punch outs.

Emory looks to put a halt to its current two-game skid when the Eagles travel to Lookout Mountain Friday afternoon to face Covenant College.
