Alex Foster Named First Team All-American By NABC

Emory University senior Alex Foster (Portland, OR) has been recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for his outstanding play during the 2014-15 campaign, earning a first-team berth on its Division III All-America Team.

The 6-foot-8 Foster helped the Eagles to an overall record of 22-6 and a spot in the Round of 16 in the NCAA D-III Championships, averaging a team-high 20.1 points per game, good for the top spot among University Athletic Association players.  Foster chalked up 26 games of double-digit scoring and paced the team's scoring efforts on 18 occasions.  He led the squad with 71 three-point field goals, tying the third-highest seasonal mark in program history, and his 2.5 treys-per-game average ranked second in the UAA.  In addition, he pace the squad in rebounding with a 7.9 per-game average, good for fourth place on the league ladder.  The owner of six double-doubles (pts./rebs.) this past year, Foster was chosen as the UAA Player of the Year and was also selected by D3hoops.com  as the South Region Player of the Year.

Career-wise, Foster finished 12th on the school's all-time list with 1,097 points.  Tied with classmate Michael Florin for the program's all-time lead with a total of 108 games played, Foster finished eighth on Emory's career chart with 140 three-point field goals and was ninth with 525 rebounds.

Foster becomes the third Emory cager ever to draw All-America acclaim and the second to be recognized by the NABC.
